About Us
Who We Are

About Back Country Fly Fishing Association.

On the second Thursday of the month we hold club meetings which are open to anyone interested in the local fly fishing community. The meetings open with club announcements and either a speaker provides a presentation or we tie flies, learn new knots, and trade fly fishing knowledge and stories.

Club Outings
We plan one to two club outings per year. Many of our members get togehter informally to tie flies, fish, practice casting and build friendships.

Casting Clinics
Cas Summers, holds casting clinics for members. There is not a set time/place. Contact Cas if you're interested in learning to cast or need to tune your expert cast. Cas will meet with you to help you find your perfect cast.

Casting For Recovery
Many of our club members volunteer with Casting For Recovery. The mission of Casting for Recovery® (CfR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique retreat program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The program offers opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. CfR serves breast cancer survivors of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery, at no cost to participants.

Coastal Conservation Association
The purpose of CCA is to advise and educate the public on conservation of marine resources. The objective of CCA is to conserve, promote, and enhance the present and future availability of those coastal resources for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public.

Community Service, Conservation, and Education
Throughout the year, members volunteer in a variety of community service, conservation, and fly fishing educational events. Our members participate in Coastal Conservation Association events including crab trap cleanups and habitat restoration projects such as mangrove planting and oyster reef restoration. In addition, we have booths at the annual Florida Sportsman Fishing and Boat Show in Orlando and the Orlando Outfitters Fly Fishing Expo. We have members that educate people about fly fishing, give fly casting instructions, and demonstrate fly tying.

Our Mission

Embrace, practice and teach the legacy of fly fishing and responsible stewardship of our natural world.

Our Values

The B.F.A. is dedicated to the conservation of our aquatic resources, we ask that members support Catch and Release practices, follow State Fisheries Laws & Regulations, and have a high regard for other fishermen, wildlife, and the environment.

Our members volunteer and support Casting For Recovery and CCA. Casting for Recovery teaches, fly tying, casting, and fishing to women who are fighting breast cancer.
Your membership will open the door to a world of fly fishing knowledge and wisdom.
